MISSION CAPSULES: Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing ... connect congregations and individuals with long-term mission partners around the world, through mission visits organized by The Presbyterian Church in Canada's Mission Interpretation program. These trips allow participants to gain first-hand mission experience and build deeper connections with our mission partners. Jay Brenzil writes of his experience in Guatemala, "I always thought that "doing mission" meant doing work projects. I have learned that mission is not about doing work for others, but about working with others: forming relationships and bettering ourselves." Let us pray for Mission Interpretation staff and for congregations who participate in mission visits that encourage and support our mission partners.
PAR Program - Please speak to, or write Sheila MacDonald at sheilamac34@rogers.com if you wish to contribute to the church with monthly bank/credit card withdrawals. FOR THOSE ALREADY ON PAR, please let Julie or the office know if you wish to continue receiving a box of envelopes. We need to know by MARCH 14th.
AFTER WORSHIP REFRESHMENTS: If this is something you enjoy, perhaps you would consider becoming a part of this group. We have four groups of people who provide these treats for a month at a time. However, they need more help. Speak to Elisabeth and she can assign you to a group or you could just offer to supply some treats. Please think about this.
MORE OXYMORONS:
- Doesn't " expecting the unexpected" make the unexpected expected?
- Why are a "wise man" and a "wise guy" opposites?
- Why do "overlook" and "oversee" mean opposite things?
- Why is "phonics" not spelled the way it sounds?
- If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay you to do it?
Have a good week - MB
