TUESDAY, JULY 14TH, 2009 - Today is the 40th anniversary of the moon landing! Where were you?

WEDNESDAY, JULY 15th, 2009 - Join us for Sunday's on Wednesday worship service; 7:00 - Rev. Matt McKay leading.

BEACHES HISTORY: During Drew Stricklands time at Beaches, he contacted a friend of his, who is also a Presbyterian minister and a part-time carpenter, and whose name I no longer remember, to build a cross to hang in the sanctuary. During a visit to Beaches he found a broken pew in the old gym and noted that "there is a cross in here". He took the pew with him and delivered the cross at a later time. So, the cross in our sanctuary has always been a part of our sanctuary.

MISSION CAPSULE: Our gifts to Presbyterians Sharing ... help Rev. Joanne Kim and North Peace Territorial Ministry provide outreach to many communities in the North Peace region of Alberta, an area of approximately 47,000 square kilometres. Rev. Kim conducts two services every Sunday, travelling around 120 KLm's. The ministry is made up of Strang Presbyterian Church in Dixonville ( the northernmost Presbyterian Church in Canada!) and the North Peace Korean Ministry in Peace River. On the surface, the two congregations are quite different - Strang is an aging congregation in a farming community, while the Korean congregation is made up of young business people and professionals. Yet both congregations seek to serve and love God and others, and are grateful for God's grace and faithfulness. Let us pray for NPTM as it reaches out in God's love to serve people in Peace River.
