Dr. David Pandy-Szekeres as he works with the Reformed Church of the Sub-Carpathian Ukraine (RCCU) as Supervisor of External Missions and Director of Schools. Over the past year, the economic crunch has had a very negative impact on the operation of the four RCCU secondary schools. A lack of funding and a rise in energy and utilities costs meant that student fees were increased by 67% at a time when families were facing heightened uncertainty with respect to employment (or not working at all). Due to a high inflation rate, job losses and rising costs for food, family incomes are generally not sufficient to meet basic needs. Let us pray for David as he works to find funding to keep these schools operating during very difficult economic times, and for people in Ukraine who are struggling to make ends meet. ARTISTS' & ARTISANS' SHOW - at this year's annual show they are planning a display and sale of creche scenes in the narthex. If you would like to make a creche - or part of one - talk to Marcia Livingstone. It can be wood, metal, wire, clay, paint, fabric or even paper - use your imagination. livingstonem@rogers.com BEACH OUT OF THE COLD program at St. Aidan's Church at Silverbirch & Queen will begin it's fourth season of operation on November 9th. The program needs volunteers to greet, socialize with and serve dinner/breakfast to our homeless guests as part of a regular team.
